Standout newcomer Mike P kept his stock high with another excellent performance against Tink Tha Demon at URL's "Born Legacy 2" on March 6. BattleRap.com spoke with the New York native about the event and his next steps with URL.
Mike explained that in the lead-up to the battle, he wasn’t too concerned with his opponent and that he was focusing on himself. Mike said: “I really wasn’t worried about him though, I was confident in my material,” and in his opinion after the battle, felt that he had won "3-0," though admitted all rounds were debatable and could be scored either way.
Later, Mike explained why he'd gone mostly quiet on social media, where he's usually a constant presence, saying that he thought his funny blogs were undercutting his quest to be taken seriously as a battle rapper. Describing his battle with Ave: “I said a hot bar and people would laugh instead of react. That pissed me off because they’re laughing at the fact that they might not be looking at me that seriously.”
