URL's "Unfinished Business 2" Postponed

The league says it plans to make the event happen on June 11.

The unfinished business between Gun Titles and NWX will stay unfinished for at least another week, now that URL's June 4 event has been postponed.

URL boss Beasley took to Instagram today (June 3) to announce the delay.

URL Family, In lieu of recent events that have transpired within the New York City area due to reasons beyond our control we have been forced to postpone SMACK/URL'S UNFINISHED BUSINESS 2. As many of you know the powers that be have forced other artists such as Joey Bada$$, YG, Mac Miller, etc. to Cancel there shows this weekend as well. We are planning on rescheduling for next Saturday June the 11th, in New York City. We will Release the name & location of the venue tomorrow but we felt it was important to get the information out about the change of date as quickly as possible.

SMACK/ URL will honor all tickets purchased for the original date and those from out of town who are unable to make it can receive a full refund and a free ticket to our next event. This assault on Hip-Hop won't stop us from continuing to bring you the MC Battle culture on the highest level possible. We ask for your patience and understanding in this matter as this decision to postpone our event was beyond our control. Thank You!!! Best,
E. Beasley

The card was scheduled for Santos Party House, a venue in New York that shut down abruptly after a controversial concert that critics claim had ties to neo-nazis.

The venue's manager told DNA Info that the lease was up and that it wasn't being renewed.

Soon after, the venue's event coordinator sent out an email saying the doors were closed after May 29. "If you have an event after the previously mentioned date, please consider it cancelled," the email stated, according to DNA Info.

New York has been struck by a wave of canceled shows this week, including many hip hop concerts. In the wake of the shooting at the T.I. concert at Irving Plaza on May 25, Live Nation has shut down a handful of shows at that venue and Gramercy Theatre from rappers Mac Miller, YG, Vince Staples and Joey Bada$$. A show from Canadian rock group Black Pistol Fire was also rescheduled.

Irving Plaza and Gramercy Theatre have been the primary locations for URL's larger cards for the last few years.

A rep for the venues told Rolling Stone, "In light of last week's tragic event, we are acting with an overabundance of caution and coordinating a going forward strategy with the New York Police Department that may also include a curfew. Because these discussions with New York Police Department are ongoing, we will be postponing a few of our upcoming shows."

Although a police spokeswoman told HipHopDX earlier that "the organization’s decision to cancel the event was in no way influenced by the NYPD."
