J-Pro Lists Top 5 Performances From KOTD's BOLA 5

Exclusive: J-Pro says Illmaculate had the best performance at "BOLA 5" with Charlie Clips and Dizaster among the night's Top 5.

As King of the Dot releases one of the year's most talked about battles, Dizaster vs. Math Hoffa, J-Pro spoke with Battle Rap about Battle of Los Angeles 5 (BOLA 5). During the conversation, J-Pro lists the event's Top 5 performances.

J-Pro says this was no easy task. "There were so many great performances at BOLA 5, I'm hesitant to make this limited list," he says. "I think Chilla Jones and Real Deal and Rum Nitty and O-Red had great battles. I called both even. Bigg K and Danny Myers and Charlie Clips and Daylyt were pretty close. Head I.C.E went crazy [against Deadman], but the vibe of that battle seemed a bit off. The 2-on-2 was the most entertaining live battle of the night. So, there are a lot of variables to consider when making this list."

J-Pro's ranking of the best battles at BOLA 5 is below.

#5. Daylyt

"Day doesn't play around when he battles for KOTD in Cali," J-Pro says. "The whole 'life alert / you like to twerk' scheme at the end of the first was one of the best of the night. The 'VR Troopers / We are cougars' stuff in the third was equally insane."

#4. Bigg K

"K and [Danny Myers] set the night off properly," Pro says. "I gave K the battle 2-1, with Danny taking the second. Bigg K set up his haymakers perfectly and they landed with their greatest force in the third."

#3. Dizaster

"Before the punch, Diz was spazzing out," Pro says. "His first two rounds were incredible. While Math's third was one of my favorite rounds of the night, Diz's overall performance was definitely Top 5 worthy."

#2. Charlie Clips

"Charlie Clips is arguably the best in the world," Pro says. "He can mix in freestyles with his prepared rounds effortlessly. His Ab-Soul flip in the first round was crazy. I had to research some of the cartoon references that he used in the second. His first two were cold, but his third round about the ski mask was the best of the battle."

#1. Illmaculate

"I didn't think it was possible, but Illmac did better at BOLA 5 than he did at BOTB 6," Pro says. "He got better each round. In the first round he mixed in a dope freestyle about the time keeper that blew the roof off the building. In the second, he broke down Aye Verb's battle history and the illusion of the 'Top Tier.' In the third, he played the nerd role. The second and third were unintentional rebuttals to Verb's rounds. Everything worked out perfectly for Illmac."
