Conceited Vs. B Magic: What To Expect

PREVIEW: A brief look at their upcoming battle at URL's "Summer Madness 4."

The second trailer for URL’s "Summer Madness 4" flagship event has landed, this time presenting Conceited’s upcoming battle with B Magic.

In the trailer, Beasley's voice-over details Conceited’s rise through battle rap, from his clash against Arsonal, through his URL ascension and recent appearances on Nick Cannon's “Wild ’N Out” TV show.

What it fails to mention is that he hasn't been so impressive on the main stage lately, putting in (by Con’s standards) lukewarm performances against Don’t Flop’s Cruger, Hitman Holla (where the biggest buzz was about neither battler bringing a third round) and Charlie Clips at King Of The Dot's "Blackout 4."

Still, he pulled an incredible performance out of the bag against relative unknown Duce for Florida’s Dungeon Battles league, so it’s safe to assume his trademark confidence will be at its peak before he steps into the fray with the Missouri punchline king.

In the trailer, Conceited says B Magic owes his entire style to him, and dismisses him as average. “He's nice, but he's not crazy,” Con says matter-of-factly. “He's just me.”

The trailer doesn’t spend a great deal of time looking at B Magic, but champions his "continuous punchline style" and lets Magic highlight Conceited’s normal aversion to punchline rappers, claiming to be “the nigga that'll kill him. Hands down.”

Magic has been battling regularly all summer, and in some of these battles he has either stumbled (against Rum Nitty on KOTD) or full-on choked (against Big T for URL). However, a surge of form against Charron at U Dubb's "Annihilation" has given him momentum equal to Conceited, but against someone much more highly regarded.

B Magic is also staying busy for the next couple months. His SM4 appearance is sandwiched between a clash against Young B for Snoop Dogg’s Gladiator School the week before and his highly anticipated Arizona battle against Bigg K the week after. September 27 will show if he’s bitten off more than he can chew in 2014.

Both emcees have something to prove here, and with the unofficial "punchline king" title on the line, should be even more motivated in this battle.
