Jae Millz Says He Would Battle For $100,000

Jae Millz also weighs in on the battle between Joe Budden and Hollow Da Don at “Total Slaughter.”

VladTV recently caught up with YMCMB artist Jae Millz, who spoke about a possible return to battle rap and also discussed the headlining battle at “Total Slaughter” between Joe Budden and Hollow Da Don.

“Yeah, if they’ve got $100,000,” Jae Millz said when asked if he would jump back in the ring.

Commenting on the evolution of battle rap, Jae Millz said the progression of the culture and the ability to order events on pay-per-view is a “big” transition for the industry.

“I love it. It’s on pay-per-view! I remember when I was young I used to order SummerSlam [and] WrestleMania [and] now you can order a battle. You can literally order a rap battle on pay-per-view. That’s big.”

Addressing the headlining battle at “Total Slaughter” on July 12 in New York, Jae Millz admitted that he believes if Joe Budden hadn’t put the microphone down, he would have walked away the victor.

“It’s the culture,” Jae Millz said when asked why Joe Budden decided to step in the ring. “He’s very dope [lyrically]. Hollow Da Don is dope too. Hollow’s a better rapper in battle format than Joe. Joe is a better lyricist [and] conceptual rapper than Hollow Da Don. For Joe Budden to do that, that was big. If he hadn’t of done the: ‘If y’all keep booing, I’ma put the mic down and I’ma stop.” If he wouldn’t have did that, he would have won.”
