Charron Says Charlie Clips Is His Biggest Battle Yet

"I just want someone really to get bodied in this one and hopefully I’ll be the one doing the bodying,” says Charron.

With his battle against Charlie Clips at KOTD’s "Flatline 3" just days away, Charron called into the PSA Radio show last night and spoke about his expectations for the match-up and why he thinks it’s the biggest of his career.

“It’s a big one,” Charron said. “Personally I would say it’s the biggest battle of my career even though people maybe would argue Arsonal, maybe ‘cause he gets more views. But I just think at this moment Clips and I are both on hot streaks and one of them has to end. It’s not gonna be, ‘Arguably he won,’ [or] ‘Arguably I won.’ I don’t really want a debatable battle, I just want someone really to get bodied in this one and hopefully I’ll be the one doing the bodying.”

Addressing Charlie Clips’ still rising stock, Charron explained why the Harlem-based battler deserves a spot in his Top 3.

“Clips is dope,” he said. “It’s hard to give an actual ranking even though Hollow Da Don wasn’t too amazing against Joe Budden I still think Hollow Da Don is the top guy. Then there’s Lux and Mook, Clips I guess you would throw in there as well. He’s definitely in the Top 4 right now. I think he’s better than Mook, but I just think Mook has more stock and more value to his name ‘cause he’s more exclusive. Clips is the type of guy who will do like four battles in one month so he kind of loses draw to his name. But in terms of the skill, it’s hard not to put Clips in the Top 3.”

Addressing his own expanding name recognition and an appearance on a Canadian sports/news channel, Charron detailed his ambitions to continually make bigger moves.

“It’s pretty surreal,” he said of his recent exposure. “But just like I’ve always said, battle rap isn’t even really about your skill. It’s just about your networking and your work ethic. Another big name in Canada is Pat Stay but he’s not getting all these shows, touring with Wu-Tang, getting all these big spots on national television. But it’s because he’s not really grinding he’s just content doing his battles. But for me I just always wanna be pushing for more so I got my manager to reach out to those guys. Got an interview. Bodied him on his own show. It’s pretty cool. I have other one’s too. News stations in Ottawa will have me on rapping about the weather and stuff. I mean some people could call it gimmicky or whatnot but I just call it exposure for new fans.”

Later in the interview Charron addressed why he hasn’t battled Pat Stay (but that he’d be open to a match-up) and why he has no interest in battling Daylyt.
