Daylyt vs. E. Farrell Turns Into Batman vs. Superman

The main event at iBattle's "Takeover 3" turns epic.

Daylyt and E. Farrell faced off at iBattle's “Takeover 3” in Connecticut last night (Sept. 12) in what turned into another iconic meeting between Batman and Superman. Daylyt performed as Batman for the second time, (the first being against Manaz Ill at “Avalanche” in Australia in 2013), while E. Farrell performed as Superman.

The battle started with two rounds of back-and-forth bars.

Then for the third round, both emcees revealed their costumes and continued to bar out.

After the battle both emcees took to Twitter to address their performances.

During a joint interview with 15 Minutes Of Fame following the battle, Daylyt and Farrell explained why they decided to perform the antic, with Farrell saying, “It was symbolic, we are not superheroes to the world, we're superheroes to the rap game ... Who can't relate to a Batman versus Superman rap battle?”

When asked why he went the antics route with Farrell, Daylyt responded by heaping praise on his opponent. "This is a battle I asked for, like I made sure this happened ... I feel he was dope, let me help him take his brand to the top.”

This match-up was the biggest yet for Connecticut newcomer E. Farrell, who made enough noise in 2015 to cop a spot on BattleRap.com's "Biggest Breakout Battlers" mid-year list.

BattleRap.com also reached out to Farrell on Facebook with a few questions.

BattleRap.com: So how did the costumes come together? Did you and Daylyt write/plan together ahead of time?

E. Farrell: Someone made a joke about it in Da Batcave group when the battle was announced. Day hit me right away saying we should actually do it and how it could have a lot of potential, especially with the movie coming out in the spring. I agreed with him so we ran with it. We didn't write anything together, he was freestyling a lot of his round actually. But we just planned to have our third rounds directed to Batman and Superman.

How do you respond to the criticism that antics like this are bad for battle rap?

People who think this type of shit is bad aren't looking at the large picture. If people think dressing different for one round of an incredible battle is bad for battle rap, I don't know what to tell them. We rapped for three rounds and pulled off some shit that has the potential to reach a much broader audience and bring some new fans in that would never have watched a rap battle otherwise. We were figurative superheroes to the culture last night, point blank.

And had you ever seen the battle where Dialect and Unanymous battled as Batman vs. Superman?

No. Someone tagged me in a post today that they did a battle on a small league in England earlier this year with the same theme. I know Deffinition and Pamflit had done the Batman vs. Joker on Don't Flop a few years back, and costumes in battle rap aren't anything completely original. Me and Daylyt did shit different though and planned to market this on the largest scale possible. They made it a hot line, we made it a hot song.

Let us know your thoughts on the concept in the comments below and stay tuned to the site for when their battle drops. If you can't wait that long, it should be up for purchase here soon.
