Dirtbag Dan Details "Virus" Fiasco

Cadalack Ron calls into The Dirtbag Dan Show and further discusses his controversial "Malcolm X vs. KKK" battle with Daylyt.

In the most recent episode of The Dirtbag Dan Show, host Dirtbag Dan gave a full rundown of Oct. 30's controversial "Virus" event, where he participated in the "Jesus vs. Lucifer" costume battle against Megadef.

Fallout from the event is ongoing, mostly because of the "Malcolm X vs. Klansman" headliner falling apart, and then the sudden involvement of FilmOn, the company also behind the scandal-plagued "Ether" event last year.

Dan sticks mostly to the facts that he knows as he explains what happened from the event's beginning to end with co-host Skylar G.

Admitting that he didn't sign any contract for the event, he says that he and most of the battlers were there for fun and/or the promise of a cut of the earnings generated by the videos going viral on YouTube.

He also explains that the event's initial mansion location was replaced with a Hollywood art gallery because there had been noise complaints about the previous night's party involving the battlers who were already in town.

He breaks down the battles that happened and says he walked out during Cadalack Ron's first round against Daylyt because he felt the characterization of the Klansman to be too offensive. He also questions how Daylyt was able to get the paintball guns through the security, a couple of guys who were patting people down at the door.

Cadalack Ron calls in to further detail his thoughts during and after the battle, saying that the paintball bullets he was shot with had left welts on his body and that he was initially upset at Daylyt for ruining his rental costume. He also was worried about Daylyt getting hold of and ruining the confederate flag that one of women in his entourage was wearing because it was also a rental. That's what he said caused the pushing between him and Daylyt and what led to cameramen Avocado and Liam shutting down the battle.

He also says that Daylyt apologized and gave him $300 to cover the cost of the costume and that he and Daylyt agreed that the footage should never come out, explaining "taken out of context, it's garbage."

At the end of the conversation with Ron, Dan sums it up: "For you, it was a complete shitshow, it didn't pan out, it cost you money instead of made you money and in the end, it got you physically hurt. But you don’t think that Dizaster was involved, and Daylyt paid you back. So the real question is who the fuck was in charge of security at that event because those are the people who let Daylyt into the event with paintball guns."

Dan also sheds light on more chaos that happened after the event, when he returned to the mansion to find the owner there waiting for the police. Apparently while the battles were happening at the gallery, someone turned the rented mansion into a party house, charging people to enter, resulting in the place being completely trashed. Dan also reveals that the owner told him the place had been rented by FilmOn owner Alki David.

Speculating on the connection between FilmOn and "Virus," Dan says: "Now this is the thing. [Alki] definitely didn’t come out a winner in this situation. Since nobody planned to edit the footage and nobody knew where the footage was gonna go, it was supposed to go on Dizaster’s YouTube channel, but according to Alki it was supposed to go on FilmOn’s video-on-demand which completely went against every fucking agreement that was promised to every single battler, because we were all promised YouTube monetizaton.

"So I feel like somebody hustled Alki too. Somebody told Alki that he would get that video footage if he paid for the mansion or whatever, that there was some backdoor agreement made with FilmOn where they thought if they paid for that mansion, ‘cause I can’t think of any other reason why they’d put up the money for the mansion."

Ending the show on a flippant note, Dan says, "My bad. Should've remembered L.A. is always on some fuck shit."
