Daylyt Details “SquatterGate” Antic, Says It Was All For Exposure

“I don’t give a flying fuck about battle rap in general,” Daylyt says. “My ultimate goal is exposure.”

In a newly released interview with VladTV, a headless Daylyt discussed his “SquatterGate” antics at BBE’s “Duel In The Desert” event that took place in Phoenix, Ariz. on Oct. 4. During the clip, the unpredictable battler answers questions about whether his now-infamous stunt was planned and if he regrets his actions now. He also alleges that the owner of the venue used racial slurs against him at the event.

“It wasn’t for show,” Daylyt explains. “I was actually trying to poop for the people that was there. People heard me straining. I think the event staff ... pretty much was like, ‘Okay, we gon’ let him do what he do,’ because did you notice [that] they didn’t grab me immediately? They let me pull my pants down, they were just watching. And at the point where they heard me straining, ‘cause I was really trying to get it out and I couldn’t get it out so I squatted in a different position to get it out more, and right when the turd was almost coming out, they came and picked me up and dragged me outside.”

“So they didn’t let me finish my shit, man, and I’m actually very mad because I didn’t get my shit off,” he continues. “I really had some shit. After the shit, I had some shit, shit! Some real shit I was gon’ spit, man, but they didn’t let me.”

Daylyt denies that the antics were planned and subsequently explains how they came about.

“People fail to realize [that] I had a whole plan for this battle. My plan for this battle was to come in there and spit all freestyles off the top. People don’t understand what I did. My first round was completely freestyle, nothing written, nothing memorized, just random shit I was coming up with. [In the] second round, random shit I was just coming up with and the third round was, ‘He gon’ take my head off so I’ma take my head off.’ So to take my head off, is to show y’all I’m the best at coming off the top. I am the best at coming off the top. I’m the best off-the-top battle rapper that the world has ever seen. I see that the crowd didn’t like my freestyles, they so used to me spittin’ bars, but they let Charlie Clips freestyle but they don’t like when I freestyle … They didn’t like it so they start booing. I ain’t never been booed before and that shit really had my stomach feeling queasy and shit. I’m like, ‘Oh shit, they booing me, I gotta boo boo. All these boos making me wanna boo boo.’ It clicked in my head and it was like, ‘If they boo you two times, you might boo boo on yourself.’ And then I said it out loud, I said, ‘If y’all boo me two more times, I’ma boo boo.’ And the crowd starts screaming, ‘Boo boo! Boo boo! Boo boo!’ And I looked at them and I said, ‘Well, y’all want me to boo boo, there you have it.’”

Later in the conversation, Daylyt revealed that he doesn’t regret his antics on stage since they got him exposure, which is his “ultimate goal.”

“I don’t regret it, your boy all over the Internet … They got me on every fuckin’ magazine [and] website: The Source, Vibe, XXL … I don’t regret it not one bit ‘cause at the end of the day I don’t give a flying fuck about the Celebrity Theatre. I don’t give a flying fuck about battle rap in general, my ultimate goal is exposure and I get what I ask for which is exposure. I’m getting exposure outside of battle rap and that’s what I need.”

Finally, Daylyt alleged that the owner of the Celebrity Theatre, the venue that hosted the battle, racially abused him.

“This is the owner. The big, tall, white dude with the blue shirt on. The owner looked at me in my eyes and said, ‘This is why we don’t allow you niggas in here. You or YG, Compton and Watts…’ The owner of the venue looked at me in my eyes and called me a nigger to my face and said, ‘This is why we don’t allow you niggers in here.’ I’ve never in my life experienced racism like that and what makes it worse is that you’ve got black security guards helping. I was hurt, man. I was actually upset.”

Following on from his “SquatterGate” antics, Daylyt today (Oct. 13) released a song fittingly titled “Boo Boo In The Desert” on his YouTube account. The song has already been removed from the site once so catch it while you can below:
