T-Rex & Danny Myers Recap Their “Redemption” Battle

“[T-Rex] couldn’t go the distance with me,” Danny Myers says.

Following their battle at URL’s “Redemption” in New York City this past weekend, T-Rex and Danny Myers spoke with BattleRap.com and 15 Minutes Of Fame Radio respectively to reveal their thoughts on the long-awaited clash, as well as offering some words on the event as a whole.

T-Rex Says He Feels Redeemed On URL Stage

We caught up with T-Rex to hash it out about his first URL showing since his one-sided battle against Charlie Clips, his thoughts on Danny Myers’ performance as well as the differences with the new generation of battle rap.

“Of course [I feel like I’ve redeemed myself], hell yeah. I felt like I redeemed myself after [Hollohan]. But this was over here on [the URL] stage.”

Rex also shed some light on his opponent’s performance.

“Danny’s performance is Danny,” Rex says. “Danny’s good, man. I think a lot [of] Danny’s bars are over-hyped, but, what you like is what you like, man.”

Elsewhere, Rex also spoke on the differences he sees with the new generation of battle rap.

“There’s definitely a new [generation],” T-Rex says. “The new generation of battle rap, they move a little more — which don’t mean nothing. I don’t think they’re as direct as our generation. We’re more to the point. We have more general lines … This new battle rap is different. They got the Tsu Surfs, the Hitman [Holla]s, all of them. They came from our era still, even though they was younger than us, they come from our era — the Calicoes and all of them — because they are still raw. A lot of these new niggas, you kind of see it coming. That’s just my opinion.”

Danny Myers Says T-Rex “Ran Out Of Steam Too Quick”

Danny Myers spoke with 15 Minutes Of Fame to recap the battle and to announce his full return to SMACK/URL.

“I feel like Rex ran out of steam too quick, man,” Danny Myers says. “His first round was pretty hot but after that, he ain’t have it enough. He couldn’t go the distance with me. Niggas can’t go the distance with me, straight up.”

Danny Myers also took the time to fully announce his return to URL.

“I’m back on URL is six days,” Danny says. “Me vs. Danja Zone [on] URL West. I’m back. I’m back on URL, officially, from this point on. So hopefully y’all see me on bigger cards, 'Summer Madness' or some shit like that against Tay Roc, or whoever else wanna dare stand in front of me.”

As always, Twitter was quick to weigh in on the battle. Check out some of the best reactions below:
