Daylyt Speaks On Making His URL Debut

Daylyt says he wants to start from the bottom and work his way up in the league.

Ahead of his battle with The Saurus at KOTD’s "Back to Basics 4," Daylyt came by the BattleRap.com offices for an interview with site editor Chris Mitchell (who called in from Toronto), where they discussed Daylyt's possible debut on URL.

Despite having battled on pretty much every notable league in battle rap, and having been previously booked by the NYC-based league, Daylyt has yet to appear on the platform. He begins the interview by addressing the idea that every time he mentioned he was going to be on URL in the past, that he was actually on a card, but that the battle just didn’t pan out: “If I didn’t battle it wasn’t because of me, it wasn’t my fault. Summer Madness (vs. Swave), it wasn’t my fault. Me vs. Big T [at "Traffic"], it wasn’t my fault.”

Daylyt also mentions the "it-only-counts-on-URL" motto, explaining that his battle record on the league is 0-0 and that he wants to rise through the ranks like any other newcomer, starting with a battle against “a no-name, an absolute no-name.” In addition to wanting to be seen as a rookie, Day indicated that he would change his name and “create a new character for URL.”

Day concluded the interview by saying that URL owners Smack and Beasley proved at the QOTR event where Day battled 40 B.A.R.R.S. that they wanted to see what Day would do next, saying, "They were willing to take the gamble to say ‘this motherfucker’s gonna do something and it’s gonna be epic’ and I am gonna do something. URL will not be the same after I step on the stage.”
