QOTR "Panic Room 3" Interview Roundup

A collection of our interviews from Queen of the Ring's May 17 event.

With a new roster of up-and-coming female battle rappers stepping out in 2015, Queen Of The Ring's "Panic Room 3" event was right on time.

40 B.A.R.R.S. took on Chayna Ashley in the headlining match-up and while a planned battle between Bill Collector and Don Ladyii fell through, the rest of the event went off without a hitch.

BattleRap.com was in the building and got interviews with a handful of the rappers in attendance. Check out our latest QOTR interview round-up below.

Chayna Ashley Recaps 40 B.A.R.R.S. Battle, Speaks On #1 Female Battler

"I thought it was a classic," Chayna Ashley said of her battle against 40 B.A.R.R.S. "Definitely a classic battle. She came with her shit. I won. 2-1 I'll say. I gotta watch it on cam."

Speaking about the style clash and admitting that not everyone will score the battle in her favor, Chayna pointed out how she differs from 40 in approach.

"Me and 40 have two completely different styles," she said. "She's a scheme rapper, she's a wordplay rapper. I'm a bar [rapper], talk crazy to you type person. It's definitely a preference thing. At the end of the day this is battle rap, most battles is off preference."

40 B.A.R.R.S. On Chayna Ashley Battle, DNA No-Show, And Future Opponents

When asked about her performance just after the event 40 B.A.R.R.S. kept it simple. "3-0 situation."

"It could be a 2-1 or 3-0," she admitted. "Chayna brought her shit. Chayna's always good. I'm not gonna sit here and try to play, Chayna's very good ... I know they miss a lot of my bars which typically happens. I tend to be a footage rapper. It's okay as far as that."

Still, while 40 B.A.R.R.S. showed out with a solid performance, her weekend was nonetheless impacted by her opponent's no-show in another battle planned for the day before.

"Extremely disappointing situation," she said of DNA failing to show at a battle scheduled for a KOTD event on Saturday because of illness. "I realize I've been sweating for the past six months for two battles and I only had to do one. I was aggravated and extra stressed for nothing. It happens. DNA is a formidable opponent so hopefully I can get him soon again."
