Ahead of their battle at URL's "Rookies vs. Vets" on March 28, Prep and John John Da Don are beginning to take some early shots at each other on Twitter.
Prep, the bow-tie wearing emcee from Baltimore, is one of seven up-and-coming battlers who will get a chance at a more established opponent at the URL event. His most recent opponents — Chess and Th3 Saga — will get the same look on the card against DNA and Shotgun Suge respectively.
The Prep vs. Th3 Saga battle at URL's February PG event stole the show with both rappers impressing the crowd. Speaking with Hughes Battle Ground just after the event, Prep warned that both he and Saga might be the most formidable rookies on the next card.
"I feel like my pen is unmatched," he said. "The way I write and put that together. I feel like John John and Suge might be in the most trouble, just based on what I saw tonight. A lot of people are gonna change their minds about them predictions."
"The thing is John John gotta stop begging the crowd to wake up," Prep added. "The crowd gon' be awake when you saying some shit. Say some shit."
For his part, John John is about to start a series of shows promoting his latest mixtape and is fresh off several high-profile opponents, most recently taking on Don't Flop co-founder Eurgh in Atlanta. On March 28 he'll be even busier, not only facing Prep for URL but also flying out to California to battle Cali Smoov for Infamouz Battles.

As for the event as a whole, Prep summed up his approach simply: "I don't have to win," he said in the same HBG interview from earlier. "I'm gonna win. I wanna win. But I don't have to win. All I have to do is prove that I can stand in front of that and I can be me and I can shake the ground just like he can shake the ground."
