DNA Announced For “Blackout 5”

DNA is scheduled to face off against a mystery opponent at the February event.

Today’s announcement for King Of The Dot’s “Blackout 5” event is Queens, New York rapper DNA.

DNA joins a still growing card that also features Arsonal, Conceited, Dumbfoundead, the title match between Pat Stay and Charron, as well as many more.

DNA is another battle rapper whose roots can be traced back to the Grind Time era with impressive bouts against the likes of Loe Pesci and Rone. After cementing his name in the scene, DNA started battling on the URL stage and today holds an impressive catalogue of match-ups on the East Coast platform and beyond.

2014 was a busy year for DNA, chock-full of battles on a variety of different leagues against a string of challenging opponents. Calicoe, Arcane, Prez Mafia, Ill Will, Celebrity Cell, Sonny Bamboo, Sketch Menace, and Tay Roc, to name a few, all squared off against the Queens emcee.

He was one of a handful of emcees who ventured outside of North America to battle in 2014. In November, he went up against Cruger on Day 1 of Don’t Flop’s “Sixth Birthday Weekend,” and on Day 2 of the event faced off against Dotz in a short five-minute freestyle back-and-forth that you can read more about here.

King Of The Dot’s “Blackout 5” event goes down on Feb. 7-8 at Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto, Canada.
